Indiana Beach logo.  . . . . .Michigan's Adventure logo

Celebrate preservation with six wooden coasters, a rare Schwarzkopf Jet Star and a classic Arrow Corkscrew

Indiana Beach is home to three Custom Coasters International wooden coasters. Hoosier Hurricane was one of the first large-scale projects from the new company that was then known as Custom Coasters Incorporated. Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, preserved the essence of the original Superstition Mountain dark ride that operated at the park from 1978 to 2001. Cornball Express brought a CCI twister to the park in 2001 to complement — and even share supports with — the out-and-back Hurricane

Indiana Beach and its attractions are squeezed onto the edge of a peninsula and small island along Lake Shafer, and many of the rides are situated over water or other attractions. A lovingly preserved 1984 Schwarzkopf Jet Star sits on the roof of a restaurant, and a shooting dark ride, Den of Lost Thieves, is situated over a snack stand and gift shop. A recently restored Chance Wheel gives guests a birds-eye view of the entire park. Indiana Beach also features Dr. Frankenstein's Haunted Castle – a classic walk-through attraction, and a chairlift that goes from one end of the park to the other.

Michigan's Adventure is home to three wooden coasters as well, including Wolverine Wildcat, now the oldest surviving coaster from the team of Dinn & Summers. The Adventure continues with two more CCI wooden coasters including Shivering Timbers — the tallest and longest coaster ever built by CCI, and the junior coaster Zach's Zoomer. Add to the mix a classic Arrow Corkscrew with its infamous bare-bones concrete block station house, and a rare Arrow Wild Mouse. Also preserved was Thunderhawk, a Vekoma SLC relocated from Geauga Lake Park.
